For this young family, their Lake Stevens new build lacked the character and durability needed for everyday living. While the open floor plan offered functionality, the builder-grade finishes quickly showed their shortcomings-kitchen cabinets wore down, the island lacked proper seating, and the overall design felt impersonal. By refreshing the living room, den, dining area, and kitchen, we transformed their home into a space that truly reflects their lifestyle.
In the living room, a new feature fireplace became the focal point, with custom built-ins on either side to organize books and games-perfect for family nights at home. A marble mosaic tile surround, wood mantle, and molding add depth and timeless character, while a dark charcoal wall behind the TV creates striking contrast and helps disguise the screen.
We elevated the kitchen with refaced cabinetry, durable quartz countertops, upgraded fixtures, and a striking marble backsplash. The reimagined island now includes a deeper overhang for comfortable seating, seamlessly blending style and functionality.
Throughout the home, a light and bright palette infuses fresh energy into the space. High-quality laminate flooring replaced the carpet for durability, while stain-resistant fabrics and pops of handsome caramel leather ensure the interiors can handle life with two young kids and a playful German Shepherd puppy. Accents of black and brass add contrast and a modern edge, balancing the timeless look with a sense of ease and warmth.
