For this Edmonds family home, a complete main-floor renovation transformed the space into a sophisticated yet inviting retreat for a real estate professional and math teacher with school-aged children. We began by leveling the sunken living room and removing a wall between the kitchen and family room, creating seamless flow throughout the main living areas and fostering stronger family connections.
The kitchen combines artisanal charm with modern practicality through handmade zellige tile, a concealed vent hood, custom cabinetry, and high-end appliances. Elegant quartz countertops and a spacious Wolf range enhance functionality for cooking and hosting.
The living and family rooms feature reimagined fireplaces-one framed in soapstone and the other in cast stone-adding warmth and sophistication to these communal spaces.
A timeless neutral palette with northwest coastal influences runs throughout the home, complemented by solid white oak flooring and luxurious, durable fabrics that stand up to family life while maintaining a refined aesthetic. This thoughtfully designed home earned the Rising Star Award in the 2024 Northwest Design Awards, creating the perfect setting for everything from peaceful mornings to lively gatherings.
